## Description
Your AI coding agent — Claude Code, Cursor, Codex — burns tokens re-reading your repo on every question. CodeGraph fixes that: it pre-indexes your whole codebase into a queryable knowledge graph and serves it to your agent over MCP, so it queries a map instead of grepping and re-reading files. Result: up to 70% fewer tool calls.

This is a full teardown of the open-source repo that pulled ~30,000 GitHub stars — most of them in a single week. We walk the actual pipeline: tree-sitter parsing → a graph of 23 node kinds and 12 edge types → a local SQLite database with full-text search → 10 tools over MCP. Then we pressure-test the headline numbers — 35% cheaper, 57% fewer tokens, 70% fewer tool calls — and read the fine print the hype videos skip: gains scale with repo size, the benchmark is the author's own, and the docs themselves admit it can become pure overhead.
