## Description
Claude Code is powerful, but most AI agent setups still give it far more access than it needs. AOS is an operating system for AI agents that puts Claude Code, Codex, and other coding agents behind real sandboxing, least-privilege permissions, and capability boundaries.

AOS Community Edition isn't another AI agent framework. It runs 21 WebAssembly capsules on the Astrid Runtime, uses WIT interfaces as capability boundaries, routes filesystem access through a VFS airlock, and gives agents principals instead of unrestricted root access. Its governed host adapters are designed to sit underneath Claude Code, Codex, and Grok Build rather than replace them.

In this repo audit, we break down how the agent OS works, what sandboxing Claude Code actually buys you, and whether the project's GitHub popularity reflects real adoption. The engineering is substantial—but the stars, watchers, forks, and package downloads tell a very different story.
