It charges you for every message before it.

Long sessions don't feel expensive.

They compound quietly.

Every reply re-reads the whole thread.

Message ten outweighs message one.

So the fix isn't typing less.

It's carrying less history.

Clear resets that weight to zero.

Compact shrinks it instead.

Used or unused, they cost context.
