Skills are folders of saved instructions Claude loads when it needs them, browsable in the unified Directory. They need the code execution environment switched on in Settings, Capabilities, which is the step most people miss.

Artifacts turn a conversation into a real working tool sitting next to the chat, and you can publish the link so anyone can use it without an account.

Plugins bundle skills, connectors and sub-agents into one install. The Small Business plugin carries around 15 workflows plus connectors for QuickBooks, Stripe, HubSpot and more.

Scheduled tasks are the one everybody misses, because they are not in the chat window at all. They live in Claude Cowork and run remotely, so they fire even with your laptop closed.

Claude in Chrome went generally available on 26 August 2026. It reads the page you are on and takes actions using your existing logins.
